Here’s a great video of The Karate Kid star, Jaden Smith, with his parents Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith during the opening of the movie in Berlin. Enjoy clips from the film and an amusing interview with the Smith family, lead by Will Smith.

The Karate Kid finally hit London, as the premiere took place on July 16th, 2010. Producers Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith were there to support Jaden, their 12 year old son and the star of the remake.

When asked about her son, Jada Pinkett Smith said, “You know, it’s Will and I… I just felt like two artists would create a little artist. When he was born he used to love dancing to Michael Jackson…. And then as he got older, he had some real skills.”

Will Smith explained that Jaden “didn’t have the shock and the radical life change that child actors usually have coming into the business.’

For anyone who hasn’t seen this interview, it’s a fascinating viewing. Here are Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith interviewing President Barack Obama after the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize Concert.

Jay-Z, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith can certainly be proud of their latest accomplishment. Their musical FELA! just received three Tony Awards on Sunday, June 13th, 2010 for Best Choreography, Best Sound Design of a Musical and Best Costume Design of a Musical. The musical was labeled as “the most original play on Broadway.”

FELA! was nominated, in total, in 11 categories including Best Musical. The music from the musical was recognized, as well, for giving the musical “a good vibe that helped to tell the story of Kuti.

In recent very exciting news for FELA!, the show was nominated for an amazing 11 Tony Awards when the awards were announced on May 4^th.  The production has received rave reviews since it opened on November 23, 2009, after also enjoying a brief run off-Broadway in 2008.

In up-to-the-minute news, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith were spotted on Saturday, April 17th at the American Red Cross Charity fundraiser in Santa Monica, California. The Red Tie Affair Fundraiser Gala was held at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel.

Here is an exciting glimpse of the Broadway musical produced by Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter and Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith. This musical uses Afrobeat music to tell the story of Fela Anikulapo Kuti’s controversial life as an artists, political activist and revolutionary musician.

Kuti’s music is experiencing a revival at the moment. This is both due to the Broadway musical, and to the release of re-mastered editions of his entire music catalog.

It’s now been almost two months since the earthquake hit Haiti. One of the many items that the country’s leaders are asking other nations to help to provide is tents. They need these tents to shelter thousands of homeless victims who have been living on the streets of Port Au Prince.

Just recently, Dr. S. Allen Counter, along with Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, stepped up to the task at hand. Dr. S. Allen Counter is a professor of neurology at Harvard Medical School and the director of the Harvard Foundation. He delivered over 150 tents to homeless families in the Port Au Prince area.

Each of these tents can house a family of six to eight people, and offer them a temporary, dry dwelling location. Most of these tents were generously donated to Dr. Counter by actors Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith. A dozen were donated by children of the Mariah Baldwin Elementary School in Cambridge

Will Smith Co-Producer of Fela

Jay-Z, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith have officially signed on as co-producers of “Fela!,” a musical about Nigerian Afrobeat pioneer Fela Anikulapo-Kuti that opens Monday (November 23) on Broadway.
